How to make gold at low levels – Level!
One of the most frequent topics on gold blogs is how to make gold at lower levels. There have been three from the last month on Just My Two Copper alone. So, here’s my own “how to make gold at low levels” suggestion…
Level.
You can make gold at low levels. But the simple fact is that the potential to earn gold is exponentially higher at level 85 (or even just 75, at which point you can get most tradeskills to 525). Low level items sell for good money on the AH – hundreds of times as much as you could get without the AH – but you’re still making less gold than you could be if you were higher level. The few hundred gold per hour you can get farming is absolutely fantastic compared to the expenses a low level character has, but is it really worth going out of your way for that 500g if it slows you from reaching a level where you can earn 2000g per hour?
There’s a nice synergy now between earning gold at low levels and focusing on leveling. Because you now get experience for mining and herbalism, taking those two tradeskills will boost your leveling speed; they’re also the best way to make gold as you level. But don’t spend time farming, just get whatever is nearby as you quest. Beyond that, send any valuable drops off to your AH character, send any BOE greens to an enchanter to DE, and just make your way toward higher levels.
Because as much as people like to talk about making gold at lower levels, the real fun (and profit) starts at the end-game…
